Joining the rest of the country, Pughoboto Sub Division celebrated 76th Independence Day with the 13th Assembly Constituency, Pughoboto MLA Y.Vikheho Swu as the Chief guest at the Local ground, Pughoboto on 15 August 2022. Altogether six contingents participated in the programme.

The chief guest hoisted the National flag and took the Rashtriya saluted from the Parade contingents. The contingents were included 8 NAP 'A' Coy, GHSS Pughoboto, New Foundation school and Mission school students. The National Anthem was sung by PPKK. The chief guest read out Independence day speech.

Earlier, the parade reviewed was done by OC Pughoboto, UBI K.Solo and the contingents parade was led by ABSI Vitoka.

Patroitic song was presented by Tobovi Swu. Choreography was performed by Mission School and the folk dance and folk song was displayed by MYBC (Women) and Pughoboto Town respectively.

MLA also inaugurated the stalls put up by Agri department, ATMA, NSLRM and others. He also opened the penalty shoot out played by officers and others. Government officials, School children and the public witnessed the auspicious program. Covid dose vaccination drive was also held during the programme.
