Zunheboto observed the occasion at the Local Ground Zunheboto with G Kaito Aye, Minister for Agriculture and Cooperation Government of Nagaland as the special guest.

On arrival, the special guest unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade contingents followed by the reading of the Independence Day speech.

Altogether there were 14 parade contingents, The parade commander was Aketo Chisho, NPS, SDPO Pughoboto.

Earlier in the morning, national flags were hoisted in all government offices and educational institutions.

15 government employees of the Zunheboto district were also felicitated with district commendation certificates by the district administration Zunheboto for their dedication to public service. 

NDPP Zunheboto distributed face masks to the people present at the ground. 

Later Sumi Officers' Union visited Civil Hospital, ZCCI Jail, and STH visited the Juvenile Home. A football exhibition match was also played between DC Xl and ZAPO.
