The Dimapur District Administration and District Hub for Empowerment of Women under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP), organized a 10-day Special Awareness Campaign under Sankalp-HEW on the theme “Empowering Women through Higher Education, Vocational Training and Skill Development Initiatives” at Salt Christian College of Teacher Education, Dimapur, on 9th September 2025.
The awareness session was conducted with B.Ed students and students pursuing higher studies in teaching. Zuchumbeni Ngullie, a panel lawyer from Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA), stressed the importance of leadership and decision-making skills for women in higher studies and the workforce, stating that these are crucial for career development and job opportunities. Ngullie also highlighted the free legal aid and services available for women, along with awareness on laws related to women’s protection and empowerment.
Officials from the Department of Higher Education for Women (DHEW) also conducted sessions on women’s safety and security, including information on Sakhi-One Stop Centre, Women Helpline 181, Shakti Sadan, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.
