The 8th Inter-Departmental Sports Meet commenced on 28th November 2025 at Wokha, bringing together various government departments for two days of spirited competition and camaraderie. The event is being organized by the District Administration, Wokha.
Deputy Commissioner Wokha, Vineet Kumar, IAS, graced the occasion as the special guest and officially declared the meet open. In his address, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participating departments and congratulated the organizing team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Renbomo Ezung for their efforts. He emphasized that while winning brings pride to departments, the true value of the event lies in active participation and the spirit of sportsmanship.
Highlighting the importance of physical and mental well-being, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged all participants whether regular players or those joining for the occasion to embrace sports as a means to stay healthy and energized. He noted that such events not only promote fitness but also help identify hidden talents within departments, fostering a culture of teamwork and resilience.
The welcome address was delivered by ADC, Renbomo Ezung, while the oath-taking ceremony was administered by Sedevizo Pienyü.
The two-day meet features a variety of sporting events including Tug of War, Penalty Shootout, Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, and Badminton. The competitions will conclude on 29th November 2025, celebrating both athletic excellence and inter-departmental unity.
