A week-long training on Direct Trainer Skills (DTS) was conducted by the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) Kohima for 12 (twelve) officers from 7 (seven) Government Departments, Nagaland. The training started on 4th August and concluded on 8th August 2025.
The aim of the Direct Trainer Skills (DTS) course is to provide an opportunity for the trainers to develop their basic instructional skills to enable them to make an effective contribution to the Institution’s Training Programmes. The topics include instructional design, communication skills, facilitation, assessment etc.
The DTS Training is part of the Trainers Development Program (TDP) sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Government of India. The training course was co-ordinated by Joint Director, ATI, Dr. S. Rongsen Longkumer and the training sessions were facilitated by two Recognized Trainers, Lakshmi Narayan Thakur, Deputy Director (Rtd.), Assam Administrative Staff College and Prof. (Dr.) Soumitra Sen, Royal Global University, Guwahati.
On the last day of the training Director General, ATI, V Shashank Shekhar, IAS, while interacting with the participants, urged upon them that being from diverse departments and specializations they should use their resources gained from the Training to serve the government efficiently and also society at large. The participants express that the training exceeded their expectation and were fortunate and satisfied to attend such training.
The training concluded with Director, ATI, Akunu Meyase, IAS, conveying special thanks to the trainers for sharing their valuable knowledge and also expressed her gratitude to the officer trainees for their keen interest, which led to a productive training program.
