Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM) organized the 2nd The Art of Life in Fullness program in collaboration with Mokokchung Ao Officers Telongjem (MAOT) at ABAM Resource Centre Kangtsung (Ao Penzu), Mokokchung from 24th to 26th February 2025.
The Art of life in Fullness program is specially designed to equip and empower the church leaders with necessary tools and techniques to experience the fullness of life and for all round excellence. The Art of Life aligns with the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development goals.
On the 2nd day of the program, Dr, Sarendi Walling, ACTO, Animal Science, KVK, Mokokchung and Imtisenla, ACTO, (Agronomy), KVK, Mokokchung while dwelling on the topic ‘Importance of Soil Health and Integrated livestock Farming' stated that Integrated farming focus on sustainability, a farming method that aims to meet the needs of the present and future, while preserving the environment and social equity. The major component that deals in this system is maintenance of soil fertility through crop diversification. This system provides better utilization of resources efficiently, where waste is a resource. They also shared how to maintain soil health through crop rotation, organic manure, compositing, Bio-fertilizer and vermicompost.
While sharing on the topic Importance of co-operative society, Tsulensa Jamir, Inspector of Co-operative societies, Mokokchung spoke about 'the concept of co-operative society and the principles that are incorporated in a co-operative society'.
The topic on Integrated Fish farming was presented by K. Nuken Kichu, Assistant Fishery Officer and Temsuwapang Longchar, Assistant Fishery Inspector.
On the first day of the program Maong Jamir, Secretary and Finance, ABAM in his welcome and introductory address maintain that the main objective of the program is a holistic approach for the church workers to learn and put into practice, to impart their skills and knowledge in their respective areas.
Introduction to Sustainable Agriculture and beyond was shared by I. Lipokonen Jamir, Joint Director SARS & President MOAT. Skills and jobs was shared by Er. T. Imlisunep, Principal ITI, and Transformative Industrialization Schemes & Export Avenues was delivered by Imtiwapang, Inspector DIC, Mokokchung.
