Department of Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, Mon organised Consumer Awareness Programme on 16th May 2025 at Town Council Hall, Mon. Advocate M Moba, Panel Lawyer DLSA Mon, was the resource person for the programme. 

M Moba expressed gratitude to the department for organising such a programme and delivered a speech based on the objective of the Consumer Protection Act 1986, with the importance of the right to safety, to be informed, to choose, to be heard, to seek redressal and to consumer education.  He also explained the grievance redressal mechanism under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, which provides for a three-tier structure which includes the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, the State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission and the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.

The Keynote Address was delivered by Assistant Controller LMCP, Mon Khevishe Zhimomi. He emphasised the significance of Legal Metrology in everyday life and said that such awareness programmes will reach even the grassroots level.

The programme was chaired by Inspector Legal Metrology, Mon, Er. Nganyei Konyak. Invocation was delivered by Toihon, Ex. Deaconess KBCM.
