District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) of Noklak district held a meeting on 20th May 2025 at DC Conference Hall, Noklak under the chairmanship of DC & Chairman, DDMA Noklak, P. Mono Khiamniungan.

P. Mono Khiamniungan highlighted on the roles and responsibilities of different functionaries and stake holders and requested them to Co-ordinate properly during the time of disaster. The DC also requested all the line departments to be prepared for any eventually for the coming monsoon. He also request Medical department, PWD (R&B), F& CS, Power, PHED, Veterinary, Agriculture, Horticulture, NST and various stakeholder departments to document and submit the activities taken and stock available at the earliest. 

SDO (Civil) Noklak, Vikhoto Richa lay down the preparation of the District Disaster Management Plan (DDMP). He mentioned that, DDMP is a crucial document that outlines strategies for disaster preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery at the district level.

District Project Associate, Tanghiu updated on the status of Village Disaster Management Authority (VDMA) and requested the newly recognized village to form VDMA at the earliest.

The house decided to conduct proper awareness and advisory to all citizens of the district especially on flash flood and landslide disaster. The house also selected Drafting Committee for District Disaster Management Plan.

And on monsoon preparedness the members thoroughly deliberated on road conditions, stockage of Medicines, essential commodities and how to respond during disasters.
