The 2nd coordination meeting of the District Level Coordination Committee Meeting Longleng for the 8th Economic Census (EC)was held on 14th May 2025, at the office chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng.

The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman of DLCC Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, NCS. The chairman stressed on the role of the various departments, particularly the DLCC members for effective execution of the 8th EC. He also emphasized on the role of teachers under School Education department for operational success, particularly in the rural areas.

The meeting deliberated on the manpower rationalization, especially at the supervisor and enumerator levels and the need to segregate the manpower requirement and block division as per administrative circle for efficacy and convenience. 

DESO & District Nodal Officer for 8th Economic Census, Nyushotho Nyuthe, highlighted on the implementation framework of the 8th EC during the meeting. Mention was made on the Enumeration Blocks (EB) identified through Local Governance Directory (LGD) that will contain approximately 150-180 households in the rural areas; the allocation of geographical area in urban areas will be the Urban Frame Survey (UFS) blocks consisting of 120-150 households. 

The chairman encouraged all stakeholders for cooperation and ended the meeting with a vote of thanks.
