The Governor of Nagaland, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, extended his greetings on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, observed on 7th December to honour martyrs and men & women in uniform and pay tribute to the gallant heroes who have laid down their lives in service to the motherland.
He stated that it is our solemn duty not only to express deep admiration for the martyrs and the brave personnel who were injured in the line of duty, but also to acknowledge and support their families, who form an integral part of this sacrifice.
Furthermore, he appealed to all citizens to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, instituted for the welfare of serving defence personnel, battle casualties, war widows, widows, and for the resettlement of ex-servicemen and their dependents.
The Governor expressed his hope that the spirit of patriotism and gratitude will inspire all as we remember and honour our Armed Forces.
