The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone III convened its Joint Meeting of its Executive Committee and Executive Council of the North East Regional Institute of Parliamentary Studies, Training and Research (NERIPSTR) on 11th February, 2026 at Tamulpur, Bodoland, Assam.
    Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, presided over the meeting as its Chairman and President. The session brought together the Hon'ble Presiding Officers of the eight North Eastern States, accompanied by senior officials from their respective States.
    A major highlight of the meeting was the discussion on finalisation of the dates for the upcoming 23rd Annual CPA Conference, proposed to take place in Agartala, Tripura. After thorough deliberation, the committee tentatively agreed for 21st-27th April, 2026 as the conference dates, contingent on approval from the Hon'ble Speaker of Lok Sabha. Reports were presented by the Secretary of CPA India Region Zone-III, and the Director of NERIPSTR on present fund positions and audit reports.
    Additional discussions touched upon fiscal measures to strengthen the organisations' operational capabilities. The meeting concluded with exchange of pleasantries among the attendees.
