The monthly Mangkolemba Sub-Divisional and Planning Board meeting was held on 9th June 2025, at the customary court, Mangkolemba, Mokokchung presided over by Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, Nagaland, along with Vice Chairman Moakumzuk Tzudir, ADC Mangkolemba, with the District Planning Officer, Mokokchung also in attendance.
In his remarks, the Chairman conveyed his optimistic outlook on the ongoing enhancement of the Longnak, Tsurangkong & Jangpetkong road emphasizing the potential impact of such connectivity initiatives, including the Foothill Road Initiative, on regional development.
While recognizing the shortcomings faced by the subdivisions, despite being the oldest subdivision in the state, he underscored the need for government officials to assume greater responsibilities in terms of sincerity and accessibility to the public. He urged them to work tirelessly to tackle the challenges faced by the community. Additionally, he called on all stakeholders in attendance to collaboratively contribute to the development of the subdivision.
During the meeting, the assembly deliberated on the following agenda items: the promotion of CHC Mangkolemba to an empanelled hospital under the CMHIS framework; the transfer of MGNREGA bank accounts for the village to the Mangkolemba subdivision from the Mokokchung headquarters; the establishment of an urban sub-station for Alongkima and Longnak towns; the relocation of the school from Puneboto village to Mithite village; the construction of a market complex in Mangkolemba town, along with the establishment of a town council office in Mangkolemba; the pressing necessity to address the poor road conditions within the Longchem circle; and the construction of a border guest house in Akumen village.
After thorough consideration, the assembly found the proposals to be valid and resolved to forward them to the government for approval. Additionally, a PowerPoint presentation was delivered by the Social Welfare Department, the Rural Development Department, and the Education Department, highlighting their activities and achievements.
