Advisor for Information Technology & Communication, Economics & Statistics and Evaluation, H. Sethrongkyu Sangtam and Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, S. Krishnan IAS, held a productive meeting on 7th December 2025 at Hotel Vivor, Kohima.
The meeting provided a platform for discussing Nagaland’s digital transformation, progress of ongoing initiatives, capacity-building efforts, and challenges faced in delivering technology-driven governance across the State.
During the meeting, the Minister presented several flagship technological initiatives envisioned by the State Government to build a resilient and future-ready digital governance infrastructure. These included the AI-powered State Data Centre, designed to serve as a center for hosting critical government applications and enabling data-driven decision-making; the State Cyber Security Operations Centre (SC-SOC) designed to protect Government’s digital assets through enhance monitoring and coordinated incident response; and NagaChain, a blockchain-based immutable identity ledger to provide a secure digital identity framework for the people of Nagaland.
The MeitY Secretary commended the Government for its proactive, innovative and impactful initiatives in the IT sector. He noted that the projects highlighted were consistent with national goals concerning Cyber security, Data Governance and Inclusive Digital Identity frameworks frameworks and emphasized the need for sustained State-Centre collaboration to ensure successful implementation of such transformative programmes.
The Secretary also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment, and assured to support the State in strengthening its IT infrastructure and advancing the new generation of strategic technology initiatives outlined by the State.
