Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs, Durgadas Uikey had a meeting with various local leaders, administrative officials and other officials at Deputy Commissioner Hall, Kiphire on 13th January 2025.

DC Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer, requested that special consideration be given to the proposals submitted by Kiphire Aspirational District. He also pointed out that during the period 2023-2024, and 2024- 2025, no allocation of fund had been extended from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for Kiphire, despite being an 'Aspirational District’. SP Kiphire, Chinese Chakhesang also appraised for the establishment of a model women police station equipped with modern facilities at Kiphire HQ.

The Union Minister of State interacted with the local leaders, stakeholders, and departmental officials, reviewing the progress of key developmental initiatives and projects in the district which reflect the Government's commitment to address the needs of the communities, and on-going initiatives and challenges in the development of tribal areas, as well as to explore new avenues for collaboration in the district.

On behalf of four tribes residing in Kiphire, namely Sangtam, Yimkhiung, Tikhir, and Eastern Sumi, the United Sangtam Student's Conference (USSC) and United Sangtam Student's Likhum Pumchi (USLP) submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister of State, Durgadas Uikey.

ABF NITI Aayog Kiphire, Sukanya, presented some success developmental works under taken at Kiphire Aspirational District. Vote of thanks was delivered by Deputy Commissioner Kiphire while EAC Kiphire HQ, Takatemjen Pongen NCS, moderated the programme.
