One Day programme for Voluntary Teachers (VTs) under Understanding Lifelong Learning for all in Society (ULLAS) for Mon District was conducted on 8th April 2025 at DEO Conference Hall, Mon.

The programme was chaired by Sume, Supervisor DEO Mon. Enibemo Shitio, DEO Mon welcomed all the Officers, staff and Voluntary Teachers from various schools across the district.

Joint Director, DoSE Vizolie Chucha in his keynotes address informed that India is planning to achieve 100% literacy by 2030. He said that based on the 2011 census, government of India has launched a centrally sponsored scheme ULLAS. He also said that though ULLAS was originally envisioned as a voluntary - base program, Government of Nagaland has decided to implement the programme through the involvement of Government Teachers. And the Scheme is to eliminate illiteracy in the country. He further emphasized that this programme should not be viewed solely as a programme, but rather as a mission.
