Marking the World Environment Day, nationwide phase-II launching programme of "Women for Trees" Campaign under the UMRUT Mitra initiative program was organised at New Colony, Phek town on 5th June 2025, where eight Self Help Group (SHG) members, in collaboration with the department staffs of Urban Development, Phek, planted fifty saplings- demonstrating strong community participations and environmental commitment of the citizens. 

Er. Kesoweu, Asst Urban Development Officer, Phek was the leader of the programme, where he stated that the initiative launching programmes are under the support initiatives of the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs and DAY-NULM, which aims to promote sustainable urban living and expand green cover in cities.
