Sûkrûnye festival 2025 concludes at Phek on 15th January 2025 with G. Kaito Aye, Minister for Road & Bridges as the Sûkrûnye Guest. 

Addressing the gathering, G. Kaito Aye called upon the gathering for unity among the Nagas in the name of celebrating festivals which includes Sûkrûnye festival. He asserted that there was unity, love and oneness through forgiveness even during the primitive times when there was no Christianity in the land. He therefore, challenged the Chakeshang people to stay united with one voice and set an example to the rest of the Nagas. 

Sûkrûnye guest reiterated and said that till today we have no common language for Nagas of various tribes due to lack of unity and oneness. He therefore, reminded the people at the celebration that unity for one voice is the most urgent need for the Nagas. 

G.Kaito also, on behalf of State Government, extended Sûkrûnye greetings to Chakeshang people and extended appreciation towards Phek Town Public Forum for successfully organising the Sûkrûnye Mini Hornbill Festival 2025. At the same time, he acknowledged that the initiation taken by State government for extending financial support to organize Mini hornbill festival for all tribes in Nagaland State has been successfully achieved.

In his welcome address, Sûkrûnye Host, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA and Leader of NPF Legislators called upon the people to adopt unconditional love for one another through our culture, and also urged the upcoming students/youths to live with honesty and hardwork to earn their livelihood. 

Azo Nienu also extended his sincere appreciation towards Phek Town Public Forum and Phek Town Council for organizing Sûkrûnye festival 2025 in a grand manner.

Highlights of the celebration were Folk dances by Jericho II Ward and New Ward, and also competitions like traditional fire making, weaving, Matchbox Bean Game and Greased Bamboo Pole Climbing. 

Invocation Prayer for Sûkrûnye festival program was pronounced by Dr. Vekhutsolū Soho, Associate Pastor, Phek Town Baptist Church, while Dr. K. Hoshi was the leader of the program. Enoli Akûlûlû Dozo and Vezovo were the Comperes of the occasion.
