The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Kohima, has been developing Nagaland Heritage based films for school children over the years. The department has already developed and released fifteen short films based on the customs, practices, values, cuisine, architecture, farming, arts and crafts, Naga peer group system, Tattoos, traditional governance, Naga motifs and their meanings, Naga Megalithic culture, Feast of Merit etc.

These films have been developed to educate students to learn, appreciate, practice and preserve our rich Naga heritage and culture. They also aim to encourage our Naga students to learn about their roots and be proud of their rich cultural heritage. These films are also developed as supplementary materials to enrich the curriculum in schools especially the Nagaland Heritage Studies.

In this regard, the Department has developed and is introducing two more additional films based on Naga Children’s Festival and the Oral Tradition of the Nagas. They have been put up on the official YouTube channel of the department titled SCERT Nagaland Heritage Films.
