The State Level Rice Husking Competition, held on the occasion of the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Celebration, took place on 6th December 2025 during the 26th edition of the Hornbill Festival at NSF Solidarity Park, Kohima.
The competition was funded by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and organised by the Tribal Research Institute, Nagaland under the Department of Tribal Affairs, Nagaland.
A total of 30 contestants from 15 tribes participated in the event and they were judged on both the quality and quantity of husked grains.
The Rengma tribe emerged as the winner of the competition, while the Konyak tribe and Zeliang tribe secured the second and third positions respectively.
