A significant initiative under the PMSVANidhi Scheme titled “SVANidhi BHI, SWABHIMAN BHI” was launched on 27th November 2024 at DBs Hall, Atoizu. The campaign, running from 18th November to 2nd December 2024, is aimed at mobilizing and on boarding street vendors in the region. The program was organized by the State Urban Development Agency in collaboration with the Atoizu Town Council and lending institutions.

Delivering the inaugural speech, Nukutulu S Venuh (NCS), ADC Atoizu, emphasized the government's commitment to empowering street vendors through financial assistance and skill development. She highlighted how the PMSVANidhi Scheme not only fosters self-reliance but also upholds the dignity of vendors in society.

Representative from lending institutions, Rajeev, Officer, Central Bank of India, Zunheboto, also addressed the gathering, providing insights into the financial support available under the scheme and encouraging eligible street vendors to take advantage of this opportunity.

The program’s resource person, Abau Suokhrie, State Mission Manager for the DAY-NULM (Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission), conducted a comprehensive session on the scheme's benefits, application processes, and the steps involved in accessing loans and subsidies.

The event commenced with an invocation by Pastor Khekiye, Atoizu Town Baptist Church (Nito Mount) and was chaired by Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak P, Extra Assistant Commissioner, Atoizu, The event concluded with a benediction by Rev. Vikuto, Pastor, Atoizu Town Baptist Church (Aizuto).

The PMSVANidhi Scheme, introduced by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, aims to provide affordable working capital loans to street vendors to help them resume and expand their businesses post-pandemic.
