In commemoration of World Health Day 2025, Community Health Center, Dhansiripar, Dimapur led by Dr. Weri Mero, Dental Surgeon, CHC Dhansaripar observed World Oral Health Month throughout the month of March 2025 under the theme “A happy mouth is a happy mind".
During the month-long observation, Dr. Weri Mero and his team organized oral health care awareness camps by visiting schools under Dhansiripar Blocks. Addition to dental examination, fluoride treatment to prevent cavities, tooth extraction, and temporary fillings were also performed.
During the camps, Dr. Mero emphasized the importance of dental hygiene in maintaining overall health. He highlighted the harmful effects of tobacco products particularly smoking and chewing gutkha. A demonstration on proper teeth-brushing techniques was also conducted.
The Oral Health Camps were organized to educate the public and schools about the value of maintaining good oral hygiene, with the understanding that gum disease in particular can raise the risk of major health issues. Additionally, a Painting Competition and Slogan Writing Competition were also held for the students.
The team visited three schools and conducted awareness camps for ASHAs, Community Health Officers, and the communities under Dhansiripar Block.
