BRIEFING ON COVID-19 ON 29TH JUNE 2020 FOR NAGALAND BY PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, HOME

The full text is as follows :

“The Cabinet in its meeting today received briefings on the COVID -19 situation in the State from the Health Department and the Home Department and reviewed the existing lock down measures. The Cabinet decided to extend/continue the lock down in the State up till 15th July 2020.

An order has been accordingly issued today that the existing guidelines with regard to the Lockdown in all parts of the State issued by the order dated 04.05.2020, subject to relaxations issued by subsequent order dated 10th June 2020 regarding opening of religious places/ places of worship for public, and the order dated 20th June 2020 regarding plying of local taxis and auto rickshaws in the border sub-divisions; shall continue to remain operative in Nagaland till 15th July 2020.

As on today, the total number of positive cases in the State stands at 434. Out of this, the total active cases are 266, and 168 have recovered. All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 266 active cases are asymptomatic.

Till date, a total of 11,661 samples have been sent for testing. Out of these 11,661 samples, 7,868 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) and a total of 7,637 samples have been tested, out of which 360 samples have tested positive. In addition a total of 4,897 samples have been tested by Truenat, out of which 85 samples tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.

A total of 5181 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.”
