CELEBRATION OF AYUSHMAN BHARAT DIWAS 2022 AT LONGLENG

Ayushman Bharat Diwas 2022 was celebrated at Longleng with Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Implementation Unit, Longleng, Dharam Raj, IAS, as the special guest at DC’s conference hall, Longleng on 23rd September 2022. 

Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat Scheme and its importance to the gathering. Informing that Ayushman Bharat is a Health Insurance Scheme introduced by the Government of India to provide free medical treatment covering all members of the family, he said the purpose of the scheme was to uplift the living standard of the people by providing free medical treatment and saving the hard earned wages of the laborers and farmers, and securing their future. 

Dharam Raj also informed that the Government of Nagaland will soon launch the Chief Minister’s Insurance Scheme (CMIS) covering Government employees. The CMIS will also cover those left out beneficiaries by the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, he added.  He further called upon the gathering to sensitize the people regarding the benefits of the Scheme for mass awareness and urged them to avail the facilities provided by the Government.  

Earlier, welcome address was proposed by CMO, Longleng, Dr Obangjungla while keynote address was proposed by Deputy CMO & District Nodal Officer, AB-PMJAY, Longleng, Dr. Philip Kent. Testimony by beneficiary was shared by N. Belong Pho. The DC also felicitated Dr. Lipok Phom, Jr. Specialist (Medicine), District Hospital, Longleng for best performing staff. Vote of thanks was proposed by SMO & Nodal Officer AB-PMJAY, District Hospital, Longleng, Dr. G. Thong.
