In connection with reports of Government Servants indulging in political activities and canvassing for various political parties/candidates for the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly Elections 2023, DC & DEO Longleng, Dharam Raj has issued an order directing all government employees under Longleng district to refrain from indulging in all forms of activities related to political parties/candidates as per the Rule 24 (1) (2) of Nagaland Government Servants Conduct Rules, 1968 which debars government servants to become a member of or be associated with any political parties or organizations which take parts in political activities /canvassing or otherwise interfere with or use his/her influence, assist in any other manner or take part in the election to any legislature or local authority.
A government servant qualified to vote at such elections may exercise his right to vote, but where he does so, he shall not indicate how he intends to vote or has voted.
Therefore, all Government servants in the Longleng district have been ordered to maintain absolute political neutrality. If any specific complaints are received stern action will be initiated against the delinquent Government Servant.
Further, The DC & DEO Longleng has also notified all the printing presses in and around Longleng to strictly adhere to the guidelines regarding the printing of Election Posters, Pamphlets, etc.
The Printing Press shall indicate in the materials (Election posters, pamphlets, etc.) the names and publishers or any such other materials printed by them. Shall furnish four (4) copies of the printed materials, along with the declaration of the publishers, attached within three (3) days of the printing thereof to the office of the DC & DEO, Longleng.
Furnished the information regarding the number of copies of documents printed and the price charged for such printing jobs, not collectively but separately, in respect of each election pamphlet, poster, etc, printed by him within three (3) days of the printing of each such document.
