Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K IAS, notified that in view of the arrival of the stranded persons from different parts of the country, a total lockdown is being enforced on 26th May 2020 in Tizit Sub-Division and 27th May 2020 in Mon Sub-Division with the following conditions:
- Movement of public is strictly prohibited except on medical emergencies
- All shops except Pharmacies will remain closed
- Movement of private vehicles is strictly prohibited.
The Total Lockdown is enforced with a view to facilitate transportation of people to different Quarantine Centres of the District.
Any person found violating this Order will be penalised under relevant provisions of the law.
In another notification the DC has ordered that all domestic animals especially dogs be kept chained (not let out of their respective homes) at all times with immediate effect until further notice. This is a measure initiated to reduce any possibility of transmission of infection through the domestic animals while rummaging the garbage disposal areas at the designated Quarantine Centres. The owner shall be held responsible and is liable to be punished under Disaster Management Act, 2005 in the event of non- compliance of this order.
