The DTF on COVID-19, Kiphire meeting was held on 10th June 2020 at DC Conference hall, Kiphire in the presence of V.Kashiho Sangtam, Minister for Soil &Water Conservation and Geology & Mining .The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Kiphire and chairman DTF, Sarita Yadav, IAS.

          Earlier the Minister took stock of the preparedness of the District with matters related to COVID-19. They members of the house deliberated on the prevailing situation and took the following decisions and raised certain matters to the Minister.

  1. The house in the presence of representatives from all apex Hohos of the District decided that as and when the Institutional quarantine capacity saturates at Kiphire HQ, returnees to the district will be accommodated in facilities arranged in the sub- divisions.
  2. The house requested the Minister to expedite the process of delivering of Truenat testing machines and cartridges. Also taking into consideration the remoteness of the district and lack of facilities for institutional quarantine, the house appealed to the government to provide additional testing machines and kits to help managed the burden of returnees on available facilities in a timely manner.
  3. The house further deliberated on the need for expanding quarantine facilities. USBLA retreat centre under Longmatra circle was identified by the members as feasible for setting up quarantine facility.
  4. Requirements for additional funds to managed works related to COVID-19 Pandemic, was taken stock of by the Minister.
  5. The Minister also raised the importance of providing counselling to the wards at the quarantine centres keeping in mind the psychological well being. The chair apprised the house that counselling is being provided to the wards through telephonic means.

Later the chairperson, DTF Kiphire expressed gratitude to Minister for taking stock of the situation at ground level and also for supporting to the DTF.
