The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Nagaland, inaugurated the End-to-End Model Facility along with the Scan & Share feature at District Hospital Dimapur on 29th November 2025. Speaking at the programme, Anoop Khinchi, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Health & Family Welfare and State Mission Director, ABDM Nagaland, said that the launch marks a transformative step toward strengthening Nagaland’s healthcare system. He stated that the new digital initiatives will make healthcare more accessible, efficient, transparent, and patient-centric. Highlighting the benefits, he noted that the Scan & Share feature will allow patients to seamlessly share their medical records with doctors, ensuring faster consultations, safer treatments, reduced waiting time, and minimal paperwork. The integration of such digital tools, he said will empowers citizens to take charge of their health while enabling healthcare professionals to provide coordinated and timely care.
Earlier, Dr. Toska Sumi, Nodal Officer, e-Hospital, Dimapur, welcomed the dignitaries and highlighted that the new facility would greatly ease patient services and improve operational efficiency within the hospital. He acknowledged the support of the National Health Authority (NHA), NIC, and the Department of Health & Family Welfare under the leadership of Health Minister, Paiwang Konyak for advancing digital healthcare in the state.
As part of Nagaland’s digital health advancement, District Hospital Dimapur has been selected as the state’s first End-to-End Digital Health Model Facility under ABDM. The initiative aims to fully digitize its services, integrating key ABDM building blocks such as ABHA, Health Facility Registry (HFR), Health Professional Registry (HPR), and digital health records. With interoperability through the Unified Health Interface (UHI) and assisted services for ABHA creation, the model facility will serve as a benchmark for state-wide digital health transformation.
The Scan & Share service, enabled by QR-code based identification and record-sharing, is expected to significantly reduce patient waiting time, ensure accurate data entry, and streamline OPD registration. Patients can now scan a QR code displayed in the waiting area, share demographic details through any ABDM-enabled Personal Health Record (PHR) app, and receive digital tokens directly on their mobile phones.
According to the latest ABDM statistics for Nagaland, 7,90,496 ABHA IDs have been created so far, accounting for 52% coverage; 1,745 healthcare professionals have been verified under the Health Professional Registry; 1,289 health facilities have been verified under the Health Facility Registry; and 3,74,191 health records have already been linked with ABHA numbers.
