Due to incessant rainfall, a flood-like situation has emerged in Tizit, Mon causing widespread waterlogging and disruption to normal life reported in the early hours on 19th July 2026.

            As the day progressed, flooding and severe waterlogging resulted in the partial submergence of houses in several colonies. Reports were also received of a landslide along the Longlam–Oting road, leaving travellers stranded as machinery could not be deployed due to the inaccessibility of the affected area.

            The Mon–Tizit Highway (NH-712) has also been partially submerged cutting off road connectivity. The Medical and Industrial areas have been severely affected, with many residents stranded due to rising floodwaters.

            According to the district administration, Integrated Command Post has been set up at ADC Office and evacuation of residents has begun despite strong water currents. A full-scale rescue operation has been launched with the deployment of personnel from the Police, various line departments, community first responders, and volunteer teams from several civil society organisations.

            At the time of filing this report, at least 500 houses were reported to have been affected. The administration is closely monitoring the situation and has urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert and cooperate with the ongoing rescue and relief efforts.
