The Administrator Kohima Municipal Council, Kovi Meyase has informed all wards under Kohima Municipal Council that in view of the pandemic, Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) there is a dire need to follow strict social distancing as the most effective precautionary measure during this period of extreme uncertainty. Therefore, with a view to contain the spread of the virus and to also cater to the requirements of the public, the following operational mechanism for home delivery of pork will began wef the 1st of April 2020.
Wards will identify delivery points (colony wise) alongwith one volunteer or more if necessary, to receive and distribute the meat within the colony/ward.
Pork shall be delivered by the supplier to these delivery points @ Rs. 230/- per kg (Rs. 220 for the meat and Rs. 10 per kg for the volunteer). Pork will be wrapped in packets of two kgs only.
Order for the meat will be placed on these terms: order should be placed one day in advance through the volunteer. No orders from individuals will be entertained. Amount for the meat should be deposited with the volunteer in advance. On arrival of the meat at the distribution point, payment to be made immediately by the volunteer to the supplier after deduction of RS. 10/- per kg by the volunteer.
Ward authorities or the volunteers may contact the Chief Inspector, KMC on this mobile no. 9436001900 for implementation of this home delivery mechanism. Further all butcher shops shall remain closed till further order.
