“The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland, Shri Neiphiu Rio and his team visited Dimapur district today to review the preparedness in the management and containment of Covid-19.

Further, a team from the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare led by the Principal Director visited Kiphire, Zunheboto & Mokokchung districts to oversee the designated Covid-19 hospitals and interacted with the District Administration and District health officials.

Till today as at 5 pm, 41 samples of suspected cases have been sent for testing, and the results of 32 have been received and they are all negative. The results of the remaining 9 samples are awaited. Further, 3332 persons are presently under Quarantine.

A total of 4715 persons have signed up in the ncovid-19 Nagaland App. Out of which 3327 persons have self declared with details. I once again, appeal those who have entered the State after 6th March, 2020 to self register in the App with your full details.

As regard the tracking of the individuals, about whom information have been received of being in the area where the religious congregation in Nizamuddhin, New Delhi was being held, I would like to inform that as a matter of abundant caution both the Health Department and the State Control Room for COVID-19 have been separately tracking the persons so that a comprehensive exercise gets done. The reports of the exercise done by both have been further cross checked and I would like to inform that till now out of 70 persons in the lists, contact could be established with 62 persons, and out of these 22 are presently in the State.  Among these 22, as also informed yesterday only 2 were found to have attended the congregation and they are under facility quarantine. Their samples have also been tested and they are negative. The remaining are those who either crossed that area or were in the vicinity of that place and all are asymptomatic, i.e. not showing any symptoms and are under home quarantine.

I would like to further appeal that if there is anyone else from Nagaland who has attended the religious congregation at Nizamuddhin, and not contacted by us yet, to voluntarily come forward and report to the respective Deputy Commissioner.

I would also like to inform that the daily wage workers and migrant workers and other vulnerable sections, who are facing hardships due to the lockdown measures, are being taken care of by providing food and in some cases shelter as well. On an average, more than 3000 people are being daily provided food, and 346 persons have also been housed in Relief Camps and Shelters.

Regarding availability of essential goods and commodities in the state, situation continues to remain normal. There is no report of shortage of essential commodities in any of the districts.

I thank everyone for their support in adhering to the lockdown measures, and at the same time, once again appeal to all the citizens to stay at home and to come out only when really necessary for purchase of food items and essential commodities, and while doing so, maintaining social distancing.

Stay home, Stay safe. Together we can fight against Covid-19”
