A farewell programme was held in honour of Joint Director (Health & Family Welfare) & Senior Medical Officer, Nagaland House, New Delhi, Dr. Hentok Phom on 25th August 2026 at Conference Hall, Nagaland State Guest House, R. K. Puram, New Delhi.

Joint Resident Commissioner, NH New Delhi, Sharon Longchari commending Dr. Hentok Phom’s contribution to the Naga community in Delhi, spanning almost 25 years, highlighted that it was because of his dedication that has helped in creating and establishing an ecosystem and network, helping patients from Nagaland connect with coordinators and access medical treatments in top hospitals in Delhi. She credited Dr. Hentok Phom for setting in place a systematic process in completing necessary paper works and embalming of bodies before sending the body home during unfortunate cases of death, greatly easing the burden on families, adding that the system he has created will continue to benefit those who come to Delhi for medical treatment.

Deputy Director, Information & Public Relations & Senior PRO, NH New Delhi, Kuolie Mere appreciating Dr. Hentok’s work in Delhi pointed out that due to his supervision 19 hospitals in Delhi NCR has been empaneled under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme and that it was through Dr. Hentok’s initiative, a platform was created in 2014, managed by students’ union, where volunteers can donate blood and help patients in need of it.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Hentok Phom recollected his years in Delhi serving as a Medical Officer and mentioned that the best part for him was the community, adding that one of his priorities when he first joined Nagaland House, New Delhi in 2002 was to serve the Nagaland House staff.

Other officers and staff of NH New Delhi also expressed their gratitude and shared their experiences working with Dr. Hentok Phom, who will now be joining the National Health Mission, Kohima as State Programme Officer.
