A Dedicated One-Day Event (DODE) under Special Campaign 6 was successfully organised at Nagaland University on 28th October 2026.

Special Campaign 6 is a Government of India initiative aimed at minimizing pendency, including expedition of public grievances, appeals, MP references, state government communications, inter-ministerial consultations, and parliamentary assurances; institutionalization of Swachhata (Cleanliness) involving conducting workplace cleanliness drives, decluttering office spaces, and properly disposing scrap and e-waste; digital transformation where old physical files are reviewed, weeded out, and closed and transitioning to e-office systems; and Jan Bhagidari (Citizen Participation).

Activities across the three campuses of the University included Citizen Centric Practices (Lecture on Awareness of Health Services provide by UHC), Best out of Waste Competition, Tree Plantation, Office Space Enhancement, Disposal of E-Waste and Scraps, Digitisation (Inventory Management), and so on.

At the Lumami headquarters, a formal programme was held with Yanrenthung Ezung, CoE, Nagaland University as the chief guest. In his speech, Ezung thanked the participants of the Waste to Wealth competition, as well as the audience, without whom the programme would not have been complete, as it focused on two important themes: citizen-centric health awareness and waste to wealth. He exhorted the optimum use of the health centre services offered by the University.

Stating that one of the goals of Special Campaign 6 is promotion of Swachhata (cleanliness), he asserted that cleanliness is not only about keeping offices, campus, hostels, and classrooms clean but includes good governance and dedication to work. For officers and staff, good governance means being sensitive to the needs of students, teachers, colleagues, and citizens, and disposing of matters promptly instead of keeping them pending, he said. He also encouraged reduction in the use of paper and shifting to technology wherever possible, as scanned copies and emails are often sufficient.

Chaired by System Administrator, Nagaland University, Zajamo Yanthan, the introductory note was delivered by PRO, Nagaland University, Peter Ki. A lecture on awareness of health services being offered by the University Health Centre for students and staff, as well as neighbouring villagers was delivered by Nilito I. Achumi, Nursing Officer, Nagaland University. Apart from distribution of health supplements to the villagers, prizes were also awarded to the winners of the ‘Best out of Waste’ competition. The judges were Dr. Lobeno Mozhui, Asst. Professor, Dept of Zoology and Dr. Vihieno Iralu, Asst. Professor, Centre for Biodiversity Studies, Nagaland University.

The competition winners were announced in two categories: Nagaland University staff and students, and KV students. In the KV students category, Kaushik Kumar Naik won first prize, followed by Subashree Nayak in second place and Soham Kumar Naik in third place. Kekhrineinuo Belho and Annagrace received consolation prizes.
