As a Prelude to Swachh Bharat Diwa on 2nd October 2024 SWACHHATA HI SEVA 2024 fortnight from 17th September to 2nd October 2024 with the theme "Cleanliness of Nature, Cleanliness of Culture" was launched today at City Centre, Medziphema 17th September 2024.
To mark the launch of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024, Swachhata pledge was administered by ADC Medziphema, P. James Swu where all members present took Swachhata pledge.
In his introductory speech James Swu called upon the people to create an environment of cleanliness beginning at their home and encouraged the gathering to integrate cleanliness into our daily lives. He highlighted the importance and benefits of Cleanliness and hygiene in our daily life.
ADC also encouraged the people that this Swachhata Hi Seva is a good initiative and should continue in our entire life, it is a pledge to continue to make a town clean, a campaign for all citizens to make our community a cleaner place.
During the fortnight program from 17th September to 2nd October 2024 various activities will be conducted in the town. In this connection the ADC requested all citizens of Medziphema Town to actively participate in the various activities and also seek suggestion for other creative initiative.
Special guest, Dr. Kobu Khate, Chief Technical Officer, ICAR-NRC on Mithun Jharnapani, Medziphema also encouraged the gathering to take ownership of cleaning the surrounding and show good example to our society.
The program was chaired by Kelengunuo Zumu, Convenor, Water & Sanitation MTC. Invocation was proposed by Pastor Keviuchulie Mezhu, Town Baptist Church, Medziphema. Greetings by Abei Thepa, Chairperson MTC and special presentation by Regina Chakrunuo brand Ambassador, Fashion Entrepreneur and founder of clothing brand REGINA.
