MLA P. Longon graced the closing ceremony of Khozaosie Hok-ah festival of Feast and Rest, held at Thonoknyu Town on 22nd January 2025.

Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland T.R Zeliang who was the Guest of the day was unable to attend due to unavailable circumstances. However, he sent a message to the Khiamniungan community, extending his warmest and sincerest Khozaosie Hok-Ah greetings and expressed regret for his absence. 

In his massage T.R Zeliang said "Nagaland is rightly called the land of festivals as different tribes celebrate one or the other festival in every month of the year. Each tribe's festival has their distinct significance and unique story which is beautifully handed down and celebrated for generations". "Today, as you celebrate Khozaosie Hok-Ah, a festival of Feast and Rest, may you all celebrate it in its truest sense and may it strengthen the bond of brotherhood in every home and bring peace and harmony to all". He said.

Speaking at the occasion, MLA P. Longon described Khozaosie Hok-Ah as not only a time for feasting and rest but also an occasion for forgiveness and peace. He emphasized the festival's role in strengthening communal harmony and fostering unity among people. 

Addressing the students present at the event, Longon encouraged them to work diligently in all walks of life and reminded them of the importance of education and perseverance in achieving personal and collective growth. 

As the community progress alongside the rest of the world in modernization, Longon urged the people to remain deeply rooted in their culture and traditions. 

At Khozaosie Hok-Ah celebration, 4th Handicraft festival was celebrated with grandeur, showcasing the region's rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship, offering a platform for local artisans to display their skills and creativity. 

A highlight of the festival was the series of competitions held in various categories: in the Nie eiu Aking-e competitions, the 1st price was secured by Mongshai, and the 2nd price by Shaniu. In Ehloniu echan competition, the 1st price was bagged by Chongpe, and the 2nd price by Thingpia. In the Viotsom ou competition, Patsou was declared 1st, while Meehu in the 2nd. And in the Ein ship ou competition, Patsou was placed in the1st and Longon in the 2nd place.
