DC Mon, Thavaseelan K. IAS has notified that in view of the impending arrival of the returnees from Dimapur and proposed testing of the returnees in the quarantine centres, a total lockdown is hereby imposed in Mon Town from 12th -15th June 2020 with the following conditions.

1. Movement of public is strictly prohibited except on medical emergencies.
2. All shops will remain closed except pharmacies.
3. Movement of private vehicles are strictly prohibited
4. Office of DC, SP, Banks, Fire and Emergency Services, Health & family Welfare, Power, PHED, Treasuries & Accounts, PWD (R&B), Para Military Forces are exempted from the purview of this order.
5. Movement of essential commodities and Goods vehicles is permitted. The total lockdown is enforced with a view to facilitate to transportation of people to various quarantine centres in Mon District and collection of throat/nasal swab for COVID-19 testing. DC informed that any person found violating this order will be penalised under relevant provision of the law.
