In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services in Mon, two Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances and two Hearse Vans funded by National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) under CSR initiative were inaugurated by Deputy commissioner, Mon Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, and HOP, NTPC -Bongaigaon Arnab Maitra in an event held at the District Hospital, Mon. The event marked a milestone in the district’s health infrastructure, facilitated under the enabled guidance of Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland P Paiwang Konyak.
The Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS in his speech, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the NTPC team for their valuable contribution to the health sector. He particularly emphasized the longstanding necessity for hearse vans, which will now enable dignified and respectful transportation of the deceased.
HOP, Bongaigaon, Arnab Maitra speaking on behalf of NTPC, expressed his pride in being part of this noble initiative. The KU President also addressed the gathering, extending his gratitude to NTPC for their support.
Delivering a vote of thanks, CMO, Mon, Dr. Supongmengla Walling expressed deep appreciation for the NTPC’s role in uplifting healthcare facilities in the district. He also acknowledged the relentless efforts of the district administration, especially the Deputy Commissioner, Mon, whose networking skill played a crucial role in bringing this valuable assistance to the district.
The programme commenced in the conference room of the District Hospital, Mon, with Yeangao Konyak, DPM (Q&A), chairing the session. The event began with an invocation by David Konyak, Chaplain, District Hospital Mon. Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Mon, Dr. Aman Konyak proposed the welcome address.
The programme concluded with the ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the Deputy Commissioner and NTPC officials, followed by the official handing over of the ambulances and hearse vans to the health department. The event was graced by the presence of the Superintendent of Police, District Welfare Officer, Medical Officers, and key stakeholders from the district administration and healthcare sector.
