Longleng District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held on 17th May 2025, chaired by MLA and Chairman DPDB Longleng, A. Pongshi Phom in the presence of MLA, B. Bangtick Phom.
In his address, Pongshi Phom requested all HoDs to be sincere and be present at their posting places, and requested the officers to inform both the MLA's, about the schemes and project under the department for better co-ordination.
After reviewing of the previous meeting minutes, the board discussed the agendas of the day, where establishment of EBRC hall at Bura Namsang and upgradation of Government Middle School Shamkang to Government High School were discussed. After deliberation, the board recommended for establishment of EBRC hall at Bura Namsang, and forwarded to the concern department. However, the upgradation of Government Middle School Shamkang to Government High School was differed in the next meeting. In this regard, the DC entrusted the District Education Officer, Longleng to examine and find out the details report and present in the next DPDB meeting.
Deputy Commissioner also urged the Heads of Department to regularly attend the district Level Committee meeting in person and not to depute representative or their subordinate officials, since the deliberation required the direct participant and inputs from the members only.
Sensitisation material on Registration of Births & Deaths was launched by MLA & Chairman DPDB Longleng, A. Pongshi Phom and Deputy Commissioner, W. Manpai Phom, in the presence of MLA, B. Bangtick Phom.
District Sports Officer informed the house that, Longleng District Taekwondo Association will be hosting the 35th Taekwondo championships later in the month of July. On behalf of District Sports Council Longleng, he requested all officers for their cooperation and support during the event.
The department of Evolution presented the departmental activities through PowerPoint in the meeting. The chairman entrusted the department of Labour to present their activities in the next meeting. The meeting concludes with vote of thanks by the chairman.
