The Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS) Officers and Staff celebrated the International Cooperative Day (Coops Days) under the theme "Driving Inclusive and Sustainable Solutions for better World" on 5th July 2025 at  RCS’s Office, Meriema, Kohima.

Briefing on Cooperative initiatives in Nagaland, Minister for PHED and Cooperation, Jacob Zhimomi congratulated the representatives of various Cooperative Societies, Agri. and Allied Department and the department of Cooperative for their achievement. He also exported that  every individuals has to play the role in promoting one another shared work and responsibility, collective contributions then only Cooperative movement would proceed ahead in  Nagaland and encouraged them to work diligently  in Cooperation sector for the upliftment of rural lives so that the next generation would harvest what we sow today

While delivering a welcome and keynote address, Commissioner Secretary, Cooperation and IPR, Orenthung Lotha said that Cooperation Day was More than a commemoration, it was a recognition of who we are, what we do and why it matters. He also stated that it was a Celebration of members, workers, leaders and everyday champions who make the Cooperative movement not just a structure, but a living force for good. He also asserted that despite of global inequality, climate crisis, political polarization and economic instability, Cooperative offered a model that was resilient, fair and future proof. He mentioned that each year Cooperative from every corner of the Globe unite in a shared vision to celebrate International Cooperative Day to highlight the power of cooperation in building a More Sustainable, Inclusive and Democratic World. He encouraged all the participants to work harder for the transformation of rural areas 

Various Cooperative Societies shared their experiences, initiatives and success stories including: Thejaseto Terhuja, Chairman  Agri. & Allied Cooperative Society Ltd. Kahuna shared  different initiatives undertaken by the Society; Dosa Zhasa, Secretary of Shurho Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. Kohima; Patsoi of Life Elaichi Agri. & Allied Cooperative Society Ltd. Tuensang  and Tsathrise S Sangtam of Atsisa Large Area Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd. Kiphire were highlighted on their respective society. 

The programme was chaired by Ameno Nagi, SRCS and vote of thanks was delivered by Alangla Tonger, Additional RCS.
