The monthly meeting of the Peren District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Peren on 6th October 2025, under the chairmanship of DC & Vice Chairman, DPDB Peren, Hiazu Meru.

At the outset, the DC welcomed the attending members and special invitees. The meeting also witnessed self introduction from new members, namely Executive Engineer, Water Resources, Er. Teiheile Hegeu and BDO Peren, Imlisanen Aier.

The agenda of the day includes the review of the minutes of the previous meeting, such as the adoption of Peren Government College, adoption of schools and hospitals, review on adoption of off-season crops, and the adoption of one village under each RD Block as a pilot project.

The Deputy Commissioner expressed his gratitude to all the departments for their cooperation during the monthly departmental social work conducted on the fourth Friday of each month. He further urged Heads of Offices to ensure strict supervision of their staff, emphasizing that employees perform their duties diligently to effectively serve the public visiting government offices.

ADC Peren, D. Robin, who is also the Convenor of the Inter-Departmental Tournament, announced that this year’s tournament is proposed to be held from 12th –14th November at Jalukie, exclusively for government employees posted in Peren District. He outlined the disciplines, guidelines, and other necessary details, urging full cooperation and participation from the members for the successful conduct of the event.

A PowerPoint presentation on “People, Forests & Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES)” was also delivered by Dr. Pentile Thong from Rongmei Baptist Association and Landstack Nagaland Team.
