As part of Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025, the department of Social Welfare under CDPO, Wokha Project organised one-day Anemia awareness cum screening camp on 4th October 2025 for adolescence girl, at Urban Health Centre, Wokha in collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare under CMO, Wokha. 

            Health awareness on adolescence girls was highlighted by Dr. Chonben Ezung, Medical Officer of Wokha. He stated that, the topic of menstrual hygiene is nothing to shy away from the society but awareness needs to be created among the communities for proper health care. Dr. Thungrhoni Kikon, Medical Officer also highlighted the importance of oral hygiene and dental care, and urged the citizens of Wokha to avail the opportunity of providing free dental check-up which is available at Urban Health Centre attached to CMO Office, Wokha.

 Girls who attended the camp were successfully screened for Anemia while 14 adolescence girls were referred for medical advice due to low haemoglobin and 6 adolescence girls were referred for Non Communicable Diseases (NCD). Later Sanitary pads were also distributed to the adolescence girls by the Department of Social Welfare.

The program was chaired by Evelynne Yepthomi, Supervisor of Social Welfare Department and Nchumthung Odyuo, Supervisor. The Chief Medical Officer, Wokha and Anganwadi Workers collaborated with the Social Welfare Department for successful conduct of the event.
