The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner & Chairman of DTFI, K. Mhathung Tsanglao.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to create widespread awareness so that citizens are well‑informed and advised about the immunization drive. District Programme Officer, Thungchanbeni Patton, also briefed the meeting on the importance of the Pulse Polio Immunization programme and the strategies for effective awareness creation.
The Pulse Polio campaign in Wokha district will be conducted from June 28 to June 30, 2026, targeting children aged 0–5 years. The plan aims to achieve 80 percent coverage on the first day, followed by door‑to‑door visits over the next two days to ensure 100 percent coverage across the district.
Altogether, 193 vaccination booths will be set up across Wokha district, including town areas, blocks, and the Bhandari subdivision. Each booth will be monitored by supervisors, while two mobile teams - one in Wokha town and another in Bhandari town will provide additional coverage. The teams will also operate at five transit points to reach areas with high inflow of people.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to all communities, citizens, and line departments to extend full support during the immunization drive to ensure its success.
