As a measure of austerity in view of the economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government has directed that there shall be pro-rata cuts of 15% under 'Non- Development' from the Budget Estimates (BE) of 2020-21 in respect of all departments for the following expenditure items:-
- Travel Expenses;
- Office Expenses;
- Motor Vehicles; and
- Maintenance.
Details of Demand-wise cuts on the above items shall be issued separately. This is issued in pursuance of Cabinet decision conveyed by the Cabinet Secretariat vide their memorandum No. CAB-2/2013 dated 21st April 2020.
