A seminar titled “Weaving Heritage: Propagating Sustainable Community Life in Harmonious Co-existence with Nature through the Cultural and Traditional Ethos and Values of the Tribal Kukis in Nagaland” was successfully held at Community Hall, Ahthibung Town, Peren on 16th September 2025.

The seminar was sponsored by the North Eastern Council (NEC), Ministry of DONER, Government of India, and organized by Gracious Society, Ahthibung in collaboration with Kuki Students’ Organisation Nagaland (KSON) and Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN).

The programme was chaired by Project Director and President of KSON, Thangjamang and a presentation was delivered by General Secretary of KSON, Lalminthang. The seminar project was formally inaugurated by Retired SDEO, L. Gangte.

Resource persons for the seminar included President of the Custom and Culture Board, KIN, Lensei Lotjem, Social and Cultural Secretary, KIN, Zampao Kilong, and MSW, Social Worker and Founder of Gracious Society, Hoineichin Singson.

 

Earlier, the opening prayer was delivered by Pastor, Thangboi, UPC Ahthibung and the seminar concluded with remarks from the Chairperson and a closing prayer was offered by Assistant Secretary of Theology & Society, KSON, Alhing.

The seminar was attended by students from Government and Christian Higher Secondary Schools, Ahthibung, along with GBs, Village Council members, and student leaders from the Ahthibung circle.

The event successfully highlighted the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Kuki tribes, while promoting sustainable community living in harmony with nature.
