Electoral Roll Observer for Kohima district and Commissioner & Secretary, DUDA, Sotsula, IAS, reviewed the progress and implementation of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls 2026 at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, on October 9, 2026.
Addressing the meeting, Sotsula stressed the importance of adhering to the SIR schedule and urged election officials to discharge their duties impartially and transparently. She also encouraged political agents to maintain records of transfers, deaths, new enrolments and other changes in the electoral rolls to ensure effective participation in the revision process.
The Assistant Electoral Officer, Kohima, presented the status report on the SIR exercise. It was informed that hearings would be conducted only in exceptional cases, with officials facilitating verification as required. Booth Level Agents (BLAs) were urged to cooperate in resolving pending cases during the claims and objections and notice phases, and to continue assisting beyond the enumeration phase.

The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), BLO Supervisors and representatives of recognised political parties.
