Abhijit Sinha, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland issued the report on Law & Order and facilitation of essential Goods & Services for the 5th of April 2020. According to the report, 3 violations of the lockdown were reported. 6 persons were bound down and Rs 1500 has been imposed as fine. No law and order incidents have been reported in the State.
According to the report, shops for food grains and groceries were opened in all the districts except for Dimapur. In Mokokchung, shops are regulated and in Kiphire, shops open on alternate days. All shops, including medicinal shops were closed in Longleng and Wokha being Sunday. No shortage of food grains, groceries, milk and medicine have been reported in the State.
On essential services, manufacturing, distribution & e-commerce, no restriction was imposed on the movement of commercial vehicles for distribution of essential commodities and service providers like electricity, telecommunication, fuels etc. in the State. The Dimapur District Administration has established a community kitchen and food has been distributed with the help of NGOs. Also permits were issued to vehicles for transportation of essential commodities and shops other than pharmacies remain close till 5th April. In Wokha, 505 stranded workers were provided food and other basic needs.
