A three-day training programme for Block Master Trainers commenced at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Kohima, under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Utkarsh Abhiyan- Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan Responsive Governance Programme. Deputy Commissioner, B. Henok Buchem, NCS, delivered the keynote address during the inaugural session on 16th September 2025.
The Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan focuses on the capacity building of government officials and frontline workers, promoting efficient, transparent, and citizen-centric service delivery through training on good governance practices and digital tools.
DC Buchem emphasized that the Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan is a movement aimed at building decentralized tribal leadership and moving beyond the traditional governance ecosystem. He highlighted that the national target of the programme includes one lakh villages and 20 lakh livelihood trainers across India. In Kohima, 27 villages have been selected by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs based on several yardstick criteria.
DC Buchem explained that the selected trainees will play a key role in facilitating the development of the Village Action Plan by 2030. He underlined three core principles guiding the mission: capacity building, convergence, and community participation.
DC Buchem urged officials posted in Kohima to take full responsibility, stressing that they have all the necessary infrastructure and knowledge required to lead and guide the rest of the District. He concluded by emphasizing that ultimately, it will be the villagers who will testify to the achievements made through this initiative.
The programme was chaired by SDO (C) & District Nodal Officer of Aadi Karmayogi Abhiyan, Rorheu Peseyie. A total of 25 trainees from five different departments attended the training session.
