The bye-election to Ward No. 11 of the Chümoukedima Town Council (CTC) was conducted peacefully and successfully on June 16,2026 with an overall voter turnout of 83.60 percent recorded at the close of polling.

Returning Officer and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima, T. Lemlila Sangtam, NCS, expressed appreciation to the political parties, voters and all officials involved for their support in ensuring the successful conduct of the bye-election. She stated that the democratic principle of "one person, one vote" was strictly upheld throughout the polling process, from the commencement of voting until its conclusion.

She further thanked all polling personnel, security forces, political parties and voters for their cooperation and contribution in making the bye-election a successful and peaceful exercise of democracy.

The polling process was carried out smoothly without any untoward incidents, reflecting the commitment of the voters and stakeholders towards strengthening democratic values.
