The Yaongyimchen Mongti-Amlung (Meeting Arena) was formally inaugurated on 8th July 2025, marking a significant milestone for the community by, MLA and Chairman DPDB Longleng, A. Ponshi Phom, as special guest, alongside Director, DUDA, T. Wait Aier and Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, W. Manpai Phom, at Yaongyimchen Mongti-Amlung (Meeting Arena) Longleng District.

The special guest addressing the gathering commended the unwavering sincerity and dedication of the village leaders and elders, which he credited as the driving force behind the successful construction of the Mongti-Amlung (Meeting Arena). He extended his heartfelt appreciation to the land donors and all community members whose contributions resulted in a structure that exceeded the estimated project cost. Development can only come when leaders are sincere, he emphasised, highlighting the importance of integrity in community progress.

In his brief address, Dr. T. Wati Aier elaborated on the key initiatives of the Department of Under Developed Areas (DUDA). He urged the people of Yaongyimchen to recognise and appreciate the MLA, A. Ponshi Phom's, pivotal role in securing this iconic project under the Under Developed Areas Programme (UDAP) scheme. Furthermore, he appealed to the villagers to prioritise wildlife and biodiversity conservation, envisioning Yaongyimchen and the border Longleng District as a future tourist destination.

W. Manpai Phom extended his congratulations to the village leaders and citizens, underscoring the profound cultural and traditional significance of the Mongti-Amlung. He reflected on how such sacred meeting places have historically enabled communities to make crucial decisions during challenging times, guided by the wisdom of their leaders and forefathers. He passionately urged the citizens of Yaongyimchen to revere the arena, maintain its sanctity, and care for it as if it were their personal property.

The inauguration ceremony commenced with a welcome address delivered by Head Barick, A. Longkang, and words of gratitude were expressed by Dr. Imnameren Phom, convenor of the construction committee. A special performance by, Yimchensenla, captivated the gathering.

         Earlier invocation and dedicatory prayer was led by Pastor Yaongyimchen Baptist Church, P. Nganlang, and Nyukphen Phom chaired the program. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by President Yaongyimchen citizens from S. Langnok Phom and benediction was proposed by Pastor Alayung Baptist Attoi, M. Shapen Phom.
