INTER DEPARTMENTAL COORDINATION MEETING HELD AT PFUTSERO

The Inter Departmental Coordination Meeting under Pfutsero Sub division was held on 22nd November 2021 at ADC’s Conference Hall, Pfutsero.

The meeting was chaired by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Pfutsero. He welcomed the members and briefed the house on the various issues discussed in the previous inter-departmental meeting. Stressing on the importance of attending the monthly coordination meetings, he urged the officers to be sincere and regular as various important agendas were discussed during such meetings. He also welcomed the new officers in the Sub-division and solicited their cooperation and support.

He said that two events were going to be held in line with the Hornbill Festival: Hornbill extension to Pfutsero Town and People's Festival at Chida Resort, Khezhakeno. Security arrangement was discussed in detail and it was decided that additional forces will be requisitioned for these programmes if necessary for which SDPO Pfutsero was requested to ensure that all arrangements are made.

Total ban on plastics in the sub-division was also discussed. Many members expressed their views on this issue. The Heads of Offices were encouraged to put up signage in their offices and to discourage the use of single use plastics and water bottles (less than 1 litre) during events/occasions. It was decided that alternative means to single use plastics will be encouraged and seminars involving NGOs and various stakeholders will be conducted to educate the public on harmful effects of single use plastic in the near future. Schools and educational institutions will also impart life skill activities to the students in the institutions by using biodegradable materials to discourage the use of plastics (eg: paper bags, bamboo dustbins etc.)

 ADC informed that 3 (three) cleanest wards in Pfutsero town will be given awards in December to motivate the wards. He requested the HoOs to participate in the cleanliness drive scheduled on the 27th of November 2021 and to decorate their offices for Christmas celebration.

The SMO Pfutsero highlighted the Covid-19 Pandemic scenario in the Sub-division. Even though Covid-19 cases have reduced, the rate of vaccination in the sub-division continues to remain low. Therefore, door to door vaccination drives have started in the towns and similar exercises will be conducted in the villages as well. He sought the cooperation of the members for vaccination in the villages and the house decided that the following members will accompany the medical team on the following dates:

23rd November at Porba village, Velule Tureng, company commandant, C' Company NAP Pfutsero; 27th November at Khezhakeno Village, Er Neitelo Koza SDO PHED and Er Daniel Kevie SDO PWD and 30th November at Kikruma Village Alice Yepthomi, CDPO Kikruma and Medonuo, BDO Kikruma.

            The house decided that the inter-departmental Pre-Christmas picnic will be held on 18th December 2021. The venue and the time will be notified later. Following members were selected for arrangement of fooding and logistics Toshikaba, E.E, PWD, R&B, Mhathung Senior Manager, Cooperative Bank Pfutsero, Vithwel Kweho, EAC Khezhakeno and Vekhrolo Koza, BDO Pfutsero.
