The Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) visited Niuland District. Adviser, Ruchika Gupta, Dept of Agriculture & Farmers welfare. Deep Shekhar Singhal, Under Secretary Ministry of Rural Development, and Dr. Md Faisal Abdullah Research Officer Sansal Marg along with the NSDMA officials & District Administration Niuland toured Aghunaqa & Niuland areas and interacted with affected farmers at Pihekhu village. A short interaction program was also held at the DC office Niuland. Farmer leaders from five areas i.e. Kuhuboto, Niuland, Ato, Aghunaqha, and Khaghoboto shared their grievances about drought-related problems. According to Sub- Divisional Agri Officer Kivika Chophy, Aghunaqha, and Niuland were severely affected by the drought. A total of 6959 Ha of cultivated land were affected; major affected crops were Paddy, Maize, Soybean and other vegetable crops.
